hippie pollutionMaybe it was an April Fools joke. Maybe not.

Either way Samples has her head in the clouds in her recent column on Lake Okeechobee.

First Samples completely misses the problem.

Cruising past thousands of birds in King’s Bar shoal, it was hard to believe this was the same lake that wreaks such abuse on our estuary.

You see in the eyes of a statist something else is always the problem.  Lake Okeechobee cannot act.   Lake Okeechobee cannot abuse.

Instead of highlighting the aggressor Lake Okeechobee is responsible.

It was Lake Okeechobee, not government, that drained the everglades and it too created the dike system.  No government didn’t do that, it was Lake Okeechobee.  It was Lake Okeechobee that legalized and continues to subsidize pollution of itself, not government.

Instead government will come to the rescue to save us from the releases caused by Lake Okeechobee changing the natural flow of water.

As different as the on-the-ground conditions are, the ultimate solution is the same for Lake Okeechobee and the estuaries.

It lies in sending more water south, reconnecting the lake with the Everglades.

Yes simpletons, the answer for government draining the Everglades and dumping water they have allowed to be polluted into estuaries is to get government to re-connect that which they disconnected.

batman pollution lagoonCan you believe this? This is equivalent to asking the child rapist to babysit.

According to Samples having a child rapist watch your kids is a miracle.

If we fix the plumbing, we won’t have to depend on a miracle to strike again.

Yes the legalization of pollution, subsidization of pollution-producing technologies, prohibiting of property rights and, of course, and disconnecting Lake Okeechobee and the Everglades merely necessitates more action by the aggressor.  They’ll simply fix what they broke and magic, everything is better.

If so, we’ll surely be needing miracle after miracle
