A federal court jury has awarded $505,500 in damages to a woman who claimed her demotion and resignation under duress from the Fort Pierce Police Department was sexual harassment.

Kristen Anderson, 31, was awarded $283,500 for loss of wages and benefits and $225,000 for emotional pain and mental anguish by a jury of six women and two men who deliberated for about six hours Thursday after hearing seven days of testimony and argument.
