All Aboard Florida: TCPalm Unsure if Floridians Should Be Robbed

Is theft ever moral?

Well apparently the TCPalm editorial believes so.

When it comes to justifying theft TCPalm relies upon arbitrary qualifications and majority rule to determine that the immoral act of stealing is magically moral.

TCPalm editorial board states (their caps, not mine):

Other Florida lawmakers should join Negron in opposing state funds for All Aboard Florida — AT LEAST until we know two things:

1. What the impacts from the rail service will be for residents on the Treasure Coast. This information is expected to be part of the environmental impact statement being drafted by the Federal Railroad Administration and should become available some time later this year.

2. What the state’s return on investment will be.

Florida officials should have a clear idea of the return — in jobs and economic impact — from any grants or appropriations the state earmarks for the railroad company. And this information must be based on a thorough independent review, not one funded by or connected to All Aboard Florida or its associates.

The worst part is the beginning where they start off saying lawmakers should oppose funding and then it gets bad, quickly.

wpid-statist-ideas-violence.jpeg.jpegAT LEAST? Well there goes the morals.  TCPalm has already justified theft upon you, they just have this arbitrary benchmark they use to justify sending goons to do their bidding by threatening you with force, kidnapping or murder.

Looks evaluate how the statists justify their violence upon others.

The first point is entirely nonsense.  They outright state that satisfying the feelings of the majority are important enough for them to commit two crimes and one fraud.

  1. Using majority rule to seize property of others and either beat, cage or kill them for resisting property seizure by our masters at TCPalm and then distribute them as the majority sees or does not see fit.
  2. Majority rule is now a precedent set to commit crimes against smaller groups. Given their taste for blood if AAF passes on without state funding they are likely to encourage crimes against FEC to violate their property right to freely contract with others and to use their property as it has been used for 120 years.  No surprise here, though it certainly feels this way when TCPalm shares stories of their community-organization of mob rule.
  3. The fraud is the continuation of their coverage where they consistently connect problems with road and water transportation with a scapegoat rather than the responsible party.  Bureaucratic road managers have known about AAF for years and done nothing.  The mob and TCPalm continues to place the blame on AAF for the failure of government.

The second justification for beating, caging and killing others is that if AAF can ensure a return on their investment then the violence is justified. Never mind that the others did not harm anyone or violate others rights.  Because the government thieves can prove the crony-company can turn a profit off the looted property of others then the crimes of theft and aggression are now, suddenly and magically, moral.

They try to pass off their crimes as being wise.

Just remember how the state and Treasure Coast were burned by the Digital Domain debacle.

digital_domain_2Yes I freaking remember Digital Domain.  I remember that it came with approval from the parasitic economic destruction development organization at the local level. TCPalm doesn’t say no to any use of one’s property for another’s gain, but if so the government should make a profit off what was stolen from you.  They did not learn the lesson of why government investments fail. Does everyone feel that economic stimulus from the VGTI and research park investments? That didn’t fail, yet, so that theft was justified.

nazi collectivist statist stupidMurder is murder, theft is theft, whether undertaken by one man against another, or by a group, or even by the majority of people within a given territorial area. The fact that a majority might support or condone an act of theft does not diminish the criminal essence of the act or its grave injustice. Otherwise, we would have to say, for example, that any Jews murdered by the democratically elected Nazi government were not murdered, but only “voluntarily committed suicide”—surely, the grotesque but logical implication of the “democracy as voluntary” doctrine.

TCPalm needs to learn how to live in a civilized society where cooperation rather than violent coercion is the law.  Did they not learn the Golden Rule or did they forget? Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.  What is wrong for one person to do is wrong no matter how many people do it.  Rothbard explained this in Ethics of Liberty.

Some of the greatest crimes of humanity have been carried out under the auspices of majority rule.  This is nothing more than collectivism at the local level.

Would they justify gang rape as the majority of the gang decides the use of the victim’s body would be to the benefit of the majority? Or would it depend on how much pleasure the gang got from the victim’s body. It can’t be a so-so orgasm for the gang members, it has to be mindblowing and pay off following the logic of their argument.

wpid-hoppe-majority-rule.jpg-large.jpegTCPalm would have us trade the tyranny of a monarch and pervert liberty under the tyranny of the majority.  TCPalm has been a very vocal supporter of majority rule and even helped to promote organization to achieve majority status. They really are trying to shape “our” future.

Or is it pistol-whipping us into their future?

“If taxation without consent is not robbery, then any band of robbers have only to declare themselves a government, and all their robberies are legalized.”–-Lysander Spooner

Keep calm and don’t follow the crowd.

When it comes to the All Aboard Florida controversy do not follow the angry mob who will ruthlessly violate the rights of others for their own conveniences.
